We focus on providing holistic care to survivors and victims of gender-based violence by offering comprehensive support, including temporary shelter, legal assistance, counseling, and psychosocial support. We operate a toll-free hotline under this initiative, along with community sensitization campaigns against gender-based violence (GBV).
Approximately 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys experience sexual abuse before the age of 18, with 90% of abusers known to the victim. Our work centers around advocacy against child exploitation through evidence-based action research aimed at driving policy and behavioral change across Zimbabwe and beyond.
Breaking the cycles of poverty requires a pivotal approach that places women and girls at the forefront of their own empowerment. We equip young women with relevant skills for income generation, linking them to markets and providing access to non-refundable loans. Furthermore, recognizing that women are disproportionately affected by climate change, we facilitate discussions and develop solutions to address the climate crisis.
Marginalized and underprivileged schools, colleges, and communities often lack access to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) information, which negatively impacts young people’s sexual health. We bridge this gap by providing informational booklets, as well as engaging art and drama activities for adolescents. Additionally, we advocate for youthfriendly SRHR services. The Community Girls Club is a project actively run under this initiative, integrating educational activities with our outreach efforts.
We mentor exceptionally talented girls from extremely underprivileged backgrounds, providing assistance to help them pursue education in STEM-related subjects. Our goal is to reduce the disparities in STEM careers, which have historically been dominated by men. We achieve this by covering tuition fees, offering work simulations, organizing study camps, and facilitating debates.
